Women’s Enterprise Day

Women’s Enterprise Day is all about celebrating women in business and encouraging many more to take the next step in their master plan. There are around 680,000 majority women-owned businesses in the UK generating £45 billion to the UK economy. We want more women to unleash unleash their talents and nurture sideways thinking to make their ideas happen!

Organisations from all over the UK will be hosting events and activities, profiling successful female entrepreneurs and inspiring other women and girls to follow in their footsteps.

Social Enterprise Day

Social enterprises are dynamic businesses delivering lasting social and environmental change. Unlike traditional business models, they reinvest a percentage of their profit back into the business or into community projects. There are tonnes of inspiring and well-known social enterprises, such as The Big Issue, The Eden Project, Cafedirect and Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, Fifteen.

Use Social Enterprise Day to shine the spotlight on the inspirational people using their ideas for social or environmental change. Social enterprise is an amazing opportunity for us to share the future of the world. It’s time to encourage the next generation of social entrepreneurs!

Friday 19 November

Home Enterprise Day

Home Enterprise Day shines the spotlight on people that have started up successful businesses from the comfort of their own homes.

Run by Enterprise Nation – the UK’s largest website for people starting and growing a business from home – Home Enterprise Day takes place on Friday 19 November. It’s an opportunity to raise the profile of home-run businesses, offer confidence to those who are starting out, and provide inspiration to existing businesses looking to grow.

Enterprise Nation founder, Emma Jones, says:

Enterprise Nation logo“There is no better year in which to launch this national Home Enterprise Day. We have been providing information and inspiration to home businesses since 2006 but we’ve never seen conditions like it. More and more people are deciding to do something they love, make it pay, and have the freedom and flexibility that comes with self-employment. They are starting from home because it’s low risk, low cost and involves no commute!”

Home Enterprise Day will recognise inspiring people who are turning ideas into action, hobbies into business, and the spare room in to a fully functioning workspace!
