What is a social enterprise?

A social enterprise is a business with primarily social or environmental aims, and whose profits are ploughed back into the business or community. Read more on the Social Enterprise Coaltion website: www.socialenterprise.org.uk

Social enterprises range from farming and recycling initiatives to larger business like Café Direct, The Eden Project and yummy restaurant, Fifteen. All these businesses demonstrate that enterprise can be used as a tool for social and environmental change.
