RTC North are working in Partnership to deliver the Newcastle Enterprise Package. Throughout Global Entrepreneurship Week we will be on the road delivering enterprise activities to all secondary schools in the Newcastle area. Specific Train the Teacher workshops can be delivered to equip Teachers with the skills and resources needed to sustain enterprise activity in school.
All activity if fully funded through Newcastle City Council and the European Regional Development Fund.

Students will be using their enterprising skills to source free fruits and berries from local hedgerows forests to produce fruit chutneys and preserves using only natural products.

There will be a range of leading role models from the world of ICT all female - talking to students live either in person or by video conferencing. They will be showing how it is possible to be enterprising in the STEM areas of industry regardless of being female. There will be workshops to accompany the inspirational talks also.

Students need to take a photo of something that, to them, represent social entrprise. They then submit it with an explanation to the Social Enterprise Coalition and could be in the with chance of winning the national prize of England.

The Alternative Energy Academy (AEA) will project manage the installation of a geothermal heating system at a secondary school in London. Alongside this activity we will run an education project engaging secondary school pupils looking at sustainability, energy and engineering.

We have set up an Enterprise cabin, where pupils who are participating in the Make Your Mark Challenge as well as from across thre school can apply to run their own mini business during break and lunchtimes. They have to prepare a simplified business plan, based on the 4 P's and then record their income, expenditure and profit. They can decide to donate all or some of the money made to charity, or split between the members of the business team.

Students from all year groups will run a Christmas Trade Fair - they will have set up their own companies with links to different subjects and countries. examples of some of thier ideas - cookies from World War 2 Recipes/sweets and cholate from France and Spain/christmas cards with greetings from around the world. The money raised will go to Save the Children as we are learning to be social entrepreneurs.

We are running an in-school version of Pocket The Problem competition MYM ran last year with Clippykit. Students will work together to customise bags with images/ objects that speak about issues they want to address as they explore the concept of fashion/ art with a social conscious. they will then plan an exhibition to display their work with money raised going to a good cause.
