Enterprise Assembly
Event code: GEW11-27645
Bright young local entrepreneurs, apprentices and professionals will be stepping back into secondary schools in York to inspire the next generation.
Volunteers from 13 local businesses including Betty's, Big Ideas Collective, Blueberry Academy, Continuum Group, CPP, Creative Condition, Marriott Hotel, My Science Co, One & Other, VomFASS, Xing, Yatterbox and York Enterprise will be delivering inspiring assemblies to encourage students to consider their business futures.
Julia Massey, Partnership Manager for Learning City York: 'Jobs and career options for young people are so varied these days, including self-employment, running your own business or franchise, let alone the more traditional route of working for someone else. We want to give 13 and 14 year olds the opportunity to hear firsthand about the different career journeys of young 20 to 30 somthings already running their own businesses and working in York.'
In the space of the week, 25 assemblies will be delivered to 2,800 Year 9 and 10 students in all 10 secondary schools as well as students with learning difficulties and disabilities at York's Special School.
