The aim of the Enterprise Challenge Days is to challenge young people to appreciate and understand what it takes to be an entrepreneur and that running your own business is a real career option. The objectives of the Enterprise Challenge Days are to allow young people to experience the challenges that face those that wish to start their own business through practical activities. These activities will challenge their entrepreneurial skills of: • Leadership • Teamwork • Decision Making • Creativity • Motivation • Problem Solving • Risk Taking • A ‘Can-Do’ Attitude

The Enterprise Challenge Day will challenge the young people to form themselves in to small businesses and compete against each other to be the best business

The young people will: • Look at the skills and qualities needed to be successful entrepreneurs • Identify well known entrepreneurs and the businesses they operate • Brainstorm their innovative product ideas • Decide on the appropriate retail outlet to sell their product • Propose a realistic retail price which takes in to consideration all the cost elements, according to the given budget • Choose the relevant materials necessary for their product • Produce their prototype • Consider their advertising campaign which will include designing their logo, creating a slogan, designing a poster, composing a jingle and performing their TV advert
