Entrepreneurs in Schools- York Business Week

Event code: GEW12-32637

Following on from the success of last year’s ‘Entrepreneurs in Schools’ Learning City York (City of York Council) has engaged NYBEP to organise a similar programme for 2012. Around 2000 young people, 14 – 19, across 12 schools and colleges in York, will be inspired by young local entrepreneurs and professionals about their journeys to success. We are currently recruiting and briefing young entrepreneurs and enterprising people, either running their own businesses or working within larger organisations, to come into schools during Global Entrepreneurship Week and York Business Week to: 1. Inspire the work and enterprise ambitions of York’s young people 2. Raise awareness of the different types of jobs, employment sectors, employment opportunities and pathways that bright young York residents are already pursuing 3. Stimulate young people to consider self-employment and starting their own business as a viable career option, at any point in the future 4. Provide a ‘real’ insight into the skills and behaviours that have been important in the development of individuals’ careers 5. Provide a dynamic, positive and fun experience, where speakers to share a passion about business.
