The Unusual Suspects

Have you ever been to a so-called 'media panel event' and left with the feeling that the industry is completely inaccessible and it's just about building your network? Are you led to believe that opportunities in television begin and end with becoming a runner and working your way up the slippery production ladder? Well, we're pleased to announce that we've teamed up with the BBC and ITV to launch an evening of panel discussion and networking with industry managers, interns and apprentices across our respective corporations to help burst some of these myths.

'The Unusual Suspects' will take place during Global Entrepreneurship Week 2012 focussing on Internship, Trainee and Apprenticeship Programmes and how you can stand out during the application process. Not only will we discuss how your online application can jump off the page, we will offer valuable and practical tips and techniques about getting that all important first break in TV.

The evenings focus will be off-screen opportunities in television, so rather than the usual 'production focus' we will be talking about placements in Sales, Research, Online and Marketing, to name a few.

The event will kick off with a panel discussion with the following key players in the creation and promotion of paid work placements in TV. The panel discussion will be followed by a short networking session where you will get to mingle with the recruitment teams from the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, plus there will be all manner of our interns, apprentices and trainee's with whom you can grill and get the full lowdown from. We will then continue with a second panel discussion with representatives of our current interns, apprentices and trainee's from the BBC, ITV and Channel 4

It is likely that we will have live vacancies and opportunities during this week although please note that this is a not a recruitment evening, so we ask that if you are invited to attend that you do not bring copies of you CV with you.
