Thorpe Hesley Museum

Event code: GEW11-30751

Time:
13:00

In Y5 the children have been working hard using all their enterprise skills to produce their very own museum about the local area. The museum has a theme of past, present and future in Thorpe Hesley. For this the children have had to use their enterprise skills to find out information about the local area, this has included visits to the local church and library as well as welcoming guests from the local community to ask them questions about Thorpe Hesley. This included a special visit this week from the local Women's Institute to tell them about history associated with the village. The children have designed and created all the exhibits for the event including models of the local area, facts and information sheets, local area artwork and different intepretations of how they think Thorpe Hesley will look in the future. Homework has helped with tyhis event because the children have been collaborating with people at home to make more exhibits ready for the Museum. Everyone is noe really excited to use their communication skills with all the visitors who will be attend on the 2nd December, to tell them all about what they have been learning.
