After a recent visit to Filey, children in Y6 have been busy producing different watercolour paintings of the landmarks they saw there. These will then be turned into calendars which will be sold at the Christmas Concerts in 3 weeks time. The childr their plan and design skills to produce what they think the calendar should look like, whilst also using their accounting skills to figure out how much the calendars will cost to make and how much they should sell them for inorder to try and make a profit

In Y5 the children have been working hard using all their enterprise skills to produce their very own museum about the local area. The museum has a theme of past, present and future in Thorpe Hesley. For this the children have had to use their enterprise skills to find out information about the local area, this has included visits to the local church and library as well as welcoming guests from the local community to ask them questions about Thorpe Hesley. This included a special visit this week from the local Women's Institute to tell them about history associated with the village.

Screening of Archive footage edited by Coleg ceredigion students as part of an enterprise project in conjunction with Coleg Harlech; Coleg Powys; and Aber University and funded through DYNAMO funding. Opportunity to see how these films were edited and developed. The films were made available through the National Sound and Screen Archive of Wales.

Individuals from the social enterprise community in Bristol are leading a discussion at the Occupy Bristol camp about social enterprise and how it can be a viable alternative to Capitalism.

The Occupy agenda is campaigning against business greed and the pursuit of profit for its own sake. The purpose of this open event is to put social enterprise squarely on to the agenda at Occupy and start the discussion and exploration about what the 'Alternative' might look like.

The exhibition, organised by CRGS Sixth Form student Naomi White, will be held on Sunday, November 20th in order to raise at least £3000 for the Solomon project. It will be open from 12pm onwards at The Grand with free entry to the public. The work of a range of highly regarded local artists will be exhibited in addition to pieces from Ribble Valley based art students. Visitors will be able to buy cards,postcards or order prints from artists’ work and there will be the opportunity to make a donation to the Solomon Project on the day.

Year 7 - Safety Day including use of First Aid Year 8 - Citizenship assemblies. Working with the Red Cross to raise awareness of work through assemblies, film and music. Some groups will raise money Years 9, 10 and 11 - Investigation of careers pathways. Y10 will also work on presentation, Enterprise activities in Team Building and Problem Solving.

Come and see beautiful samples of Welsh quilts designed and made by Yale College students: on show at the Welsh Government offices at Llandudno Junction throughout Global Entrepreneurship Week!

The Thinc Quilts project was funded by the Welsh Government and designed to inspire young people interested in crafts and textiles to investigate the Welsh woollen industry and the impact it ahs had on historical, contemporary, local and international creative industries and design.

The top 12 photos will feature in a calendar which will be on sale in Yale College and the photos will be displayed in the Memorial Arts Gallery.
