Workplace Partnership and the Role of Employee Directors
Event code: GEW11-29862
More than 3 million workers in the UK are covered by partnership agreements (Bacon and Samuel 2009) and the concept generates considerable discussion and debate.
While there is no precise definition ACAS argue that the essence of partnership is not based on one of power but the satisfaction of mutual and separate in interests. For this inaugural CPD series event GCU are delighted to announce that Lillian Macer, Employee Director at Lanarkshire Health Board will discuss her experience of workplace partnership at a strategic level and the findings of her recent research on the effectiveness of employee directors.
This session will be particularly useful for HRM/ER specialists that are involved in or who are contemplating partnership working and will provide key insights how working in partnership contributes to organisational effectiveness and value. Practitioners who do not work with Trade Unions will also find the perspective of an employee representative interesting.
Delivered in an informal setting and facilitated by Ronnie Caddow, Lecturer in HRM/ER at GCU, the free session adopts a participative approach and delegates will be invited to discuss issues and share relevant experiences. There will also be a question and answer session at the end of the session.
