The Business Studies team was awarded with a £1,000 prize for Creativity and Innovation at the National Muslim Teachers Awards.
This money was invested in a pioneering enterprise project; where Business and Enterprise students were divided into teams and given a £40 start-up capital. As a part of their course, they were required to create a real business plan based on a unique idea, which fills a gap in the market.
Through our partnership with Town & Country Markets we secured 5 stalls in the Luton Town Market, where students sold were able to sell their products to a wider market.

Starting a business is one thing, expanding your range of contacts and
business opportunities is a different challenge. For small or micro businesses
this is all the more important because they are particularly vulnerable in their
early years.

One of the key issues facing people deciding to start a business is lack of
confidence. Doubts about when to make a start, if you’re ready and how to do it
are natural concerns but when combined with the challenge of finding new
customers/suppliers, talking to them and forging beneficial relationships, it all
doesn’t come naturally to a lot of people. Motivating yourself to keep the
momentum needed to establish your business is essential.
