The Royal Marines will be explaining about the valuable work that they do for our Country. They will also be putting our Year 11 students through rigorous PT Training sessions. During their visit they will be talking to students from various Year Groups about Careers within the Royal Navy. Students will also have the opportunity to see for themselves the equipment/kit and ration packs used by the Marines whilst on duty.

Year 12 Business students will be set 3 Apprentice Challenges across the week. They will be set in teams and the challenges will be set by specified teachers and in secret locations! Students will have to present their ideas in the Boardroom and along with a winning team, there will also be a losing team; whereby someone will be fired!

Literacy plays a huge part in GEW and at The JCB Academy we wanted to ensure that we involved all subject areas. Their letters will be peer, self and teacher assessed and will be available for others across the school to see.

All of Year 11 will be set the GEW Challenge! Working in their mentor groups, they will work to complete the enterprise challenge. Each group will then present their ideas and a winning team will be chosen to represent them in the final. There will then be a final presentation session whereby all 9 groups will be represented by a team. One winning team will be chosen by a panel of judges and House Points will be awarded to the winning groups house!
