Event: Earthwatch Debate: From Tsunami to Drought

Three experts will be joined by an enterprising member of the public to present solutions to the looming crisis of access to water for drinking and sanitation. Our speakers will then be interrogated by a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style panel before you, the audience, cast the deciding vote.

All tutor groups have been invited to become social entrepreneurs. Using the www.kiva.org website they will identify an entrepreneur in a developing country who is in need of finance to develop or start their business. Each form group will then fundraise to raise the investment needed to get this business off the ground. The students will plan their activities in Enterprise Week then spend the time upto Xmas running their fundraising activities. Money raised will be loaned via the website to their preferred entrepreneur.
