Tuck Shop Challenge o Teams of children take part in a half-day enterprise challenge to create a company to run a healthy tuck shop in their own school. The winning company is the one with the best business plan and company profile.

All students will be invited to blog about entrepreneurship and what it means to them. All computer rooms will be opened up for the week during break and lunchtimes for students to talk to each other, through the Blog, about current business issues and what it takes to be an entrepreneur.

Students are being asked to come up with an innovative business idea for the local area. The competition will last all week and entries will be judged by the Local Economic Regeneration Unit.

The whole of the Year 7 students over the two afternoons will be involved in the Aeroplane Business Challenge This will will be run by Year 11 students. The event consists of there being 5 days where a different type of plane is required depending on conditions and venue fo flight. the students have to then make a plane and bring it to the judges to see if it meets the critria set by the students.

This week each school will submit 1 final team (up to 8 students) that will go onto the final Apprentice Challenge.

Trading has started among Stockton families who are hoping to clinch the title of this year’s “Most Enterprising Family” in the Nifty Fifty Family Enterprise Challenge.

The families have successfully secured £50 from a special enterprise bank organised by Stockton Council as a contribution towards the start-up costs. They have been set the challenge of coming up with an “enterprising idea” and using it to make as much profit leading into Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011.

Abbey Hill school has developed a mobile shop Enterprise that will allow the students at the school to sell their products at local community events, market stalls and other locations. On 14th November local entrepreneurs and teachers will be working with 400 students to develop a brand for the shop and to generate ideas for products to sell on the shop.
