A short practical course in Creative Web Design enabling would-be entrepreneurs to construct and design their own web page. The course is accredited by the University College Birmingham and carries 10 CAT credits at Level 4 enabling the students to build on this with other CAT accredited courses and on successful completion of 60 CAT credits gain a Certificate in Professional Development at Level 4. The cost of this course is £175 and students should email Paul Matthews at p.matthews@ucb.ac.uk to book a place

As part of the Adult Skills Offer, Employability department offer retail training to unemployed adults in receipt of JSA and ESA. This is a 6 week course which allows work based experience with a local retailers. Adult taking part in the course will run a Jewelley store at Paget Road on Thursday 17 November, to support Newlife Foundation, a charity that supports local children with severe disabilities and health problems. The students will be selling jewelley items donated to Newlife by high street retailers at heavily disocunted prices. all funds raised will be returned to Newlife charity.

Mediacove Ad Challenge
Target Group: Any student interested in film production
The Challenge:
It's really easy. The challenge begins on Monday 14th November at 10.00am. We will provide you with one product and a list of functions/target group of that product.
Your challenge will be to advertise that product in your own video advertisement within the space of one week! This includes writing; shooting and editing a complete three minute advertisement... hard work but fun!
The advert needs to be between 1-3 minutes in length
