This is the second year of the QuickStart programme which provides post-primary students with an opportunity to set up and run a real company over a 10 week period. It gives young people an intensive real-life experience of the highs and lows of setting up and running their own business.

Over 30 schools have already registered to run the QuickStart programme, which underlines the importance of fostering an enterprise culture in our schools.

There are over 140 schools nationwide with young entrepreneurs independently operating healthy tuck shop businesses set up by fruit to suit.

fruit to suit is an award winning social enterprise company delivering bespoke, quality assured business and enterprise programs to primary and secondary schools nationwide. Our programs develop and encourage entrepreneurial skills and a greater understanding of business planning which can be consolidated by establishing and operating a long term, sustainable healthy food business.

NatWest provides women entrepreneurs support and advice through female Ambassadors based in local markets and via partners Everywoman and Athena Network.

For start ups RBS provides support through - 2 years free banking, free relationship manager, online web site setting tools, wealth of resource and mentoring via Smarta and business start-up hotline etc. - they help 2000 new businesses every week.

Coutts Women Programme celebrates entrepreneurship by way of successful entrepreneurs coming together and exchanging experiences around a topic as a community via an online magazine.

Coutts has an established best practice next gen programme for our clients' children which includes education and life skills and could perhaps be carved out and used as best practice for school children across the country.

RBS and NatWest staff will be supporting around 60 schools across the UK during GEW. They are volunteering to run the MoneySense 'You're in Business' enterprise events. MoneySense is the RBS and NatWest financial education programme aimed at 11-19 year olds teaching them everything from managing their own money to running a business.
