Enterprising Young Brits launch 2008

Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt Hon Alistair Darling MP, launched the Daily Mail Enterprising Young Brits Awards 2009 in Enterprise Week 2008.

Past winners of the Awards joined us at the Hub in Kings Cross London, a social enterprise with the ambition to inspire and support imaginative and enterprising initiatives for a better world. The Award winners spoke about how the competition has helped them drive their businesses forward.

Networking at launch of Enterprising Young BritsAfter some obligatory speednetworking, Darling emphasised the important role that entrepreneurs play in driving the economy.

Ben Keene, who set up an online community based around the Fijan island of Vorovoro, entertained the crowd with his story of setting up, from approaching the islanders to launching the community.

The competition not only gives winners vital exposure, but winners in five categories walk away with £1,000 each!
