North East Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2007

Hundreds of female entrepreneurs from across the North East gathered at the iconic Sage Gateshead

Hundreds of female entrepreneurs from across the North East gathered at the iconic Sage Gateshead during Enterprise Week 2007 for a glittering and glamorous awards ceremony to celebrate the inspiring and innovative women who are running successful businesses across the region.

The North East Women Entrepreneur of the Year Awards recognise creative, determined and entrepreneurial business leaders who have defied gender and regional stereotypes to excel in their field. The awards help to raise the profile of women in business in the region who are now inspirational role models for the next generation of female entrepreneurs. The awards were set up by Durham University’s Women Into the Network, an organisation that connects businesswomen in the North East. This year’s awards will be the biggest yet and will take place in Enterprise Week on Friday 21 November in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

“The continuing development of women’s enterprise offers our region enormous untapped potential” Margaret Fay, Chairman of Regional Development Agency, One NorthEast
