Meet Sandwell Council's supply chain 2009

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2009, residents of Sandwell in the West Midlands attended the ‘Meet Sandwell Council’s supply chain’ event.
Run by the council in partnership with the local Business Education Partnership and Sammy Rose Management Services, the event showcased over 90 large, small and micro-sized businesses from around the Black Country. It was a chance to market local businesses, introduce the region’s influential buyers to local suppliers and encourage young people into enterprise.
The event proved a great networking opportunity with some attendees coming away with a wallet full of business cards! One delegate commented, ‘[I] made over 30 contacts – have 5 meetings arranged over the next couple of weeks to develop new business’. For others, the event proved to be the driving factor in starting a business. ‘We have a new project in the pipeline and after the event we are now more determined to take the necessary steps to push it forward.’
