DigitalCity Business are aiming to Connect, Support and Promote the very best Creative & Digital businesses in Stockton, within Global Enterprise Week.

Stockton students have been working on this task for the past few months.

This week each school will submit 1 final team (up to 8 students) that will go onto the final Apprentice Challenge.

Trading has started among Stockton families who are hoping to clinch the title of this year’s “Most Enterprising Family” in the Nifty Fifty Family Enterprise Challenge.

The families have successfully secured £50 from a special enterprise bank organised by Stockton Council as a contribution towards the start-up costs. They have been set the challenge of coming up with an “enterprising idea” and using it to make as much profit leading into Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011.

Abbey Hill school has developed a mobile shop Enterprise that will allow the students at the school to sell their products at local community events, market stalls and other locations. On 14th November local entrepreneurs and teachers will be working with 400 students to develop a brand for the shop and to generate ideas for products to sell on the shop.

Enterprise Gateways is a unique partnership of business support agencies across Stockton to help people realise their ambition of becoming self-employed. Families across Stockton-on-Tees were encouraged to let their entrepreneurial flair go.

Since 17 October families have been battling out for the “Most Enterprising Family” title. Each team secured £50 from a special “Enterprise Bank” to put towards the start-up costs associated with their enterprising idea and were challenged to make as much profit as possible before 11 November.

The family who makes the most profit will be crowned the Nifty Fifty Family Enterprise Champions within Enterprise Week.

A one week course designed for people who want to explore setting up a new business.
